Potential commercial applications of InsectiSlide™ covered tapes could be, but are by no means limited to:

1. •Preventing insect entry into buildings by coating outdoor materials or potential entry points. In particular air vents of production clean-rooms, hospitals or any other critical installation where insects cause problems. 
   

2. •A unique solution to termite damage. 
   

3. •Protection of electrical components and wiring susceptible to insect damage. 
   

4. •Can be used in areas where toxic chemical insecticides would be unsuitable or cause a health hazard. 
   

5. •More hygienic and convenient than glue- or powder-based barriers which require frequent re-application. 
   

Current features of the technology are based on an easily available commodity polymer that is cured on any smooth surface. However, the patent covers the mechanism by which insects loose adhesion and slip, not the type of surface material eliciting this effect. Therefore, we are not limited to the use of a certain type of polymer and are ready to explore the use of more convenient alternatives with you, should that be required.
